Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to questions our clients are often wondering about

How much does it cost to have my windows professionally cleaned?

Window cleaning prices vary from property to property, but Red Robin starts at $129 for an exterior window cleaning. For a quick, exact quote, you can try out our instant online quote form which will help you to understand our pricing.

Are your cleaning products safe?

All of our cleaning products are certified and thoroughly tested to meet the most rigorous environmental standards required by Canadian law.

How often should I clean my windows?

A yearly cleaning is the minimum standard, however most of our clients prefer to have both interior and exterior windows cleaned twice yearly, or exterior windows cleaned on a quarterly basis. We offer a window care program for our regular customers.

What happens if it is scheduled to rain on the day of my cleaning?

Generally we keep our scheduled appointments if it is calling for light rain. Rain does not affect the cleaning process or results. If thunderstorms or heavy rain are being called for, we will be in touch to reschedule your cleaning.

Do I need to be home while you do the work?

New clients usually prefer to be home for our first cleaning (although that’s not required if its only an exterior cleaning). Many of our long term clients are confident in our services and do not feel the need to be there while we perform the work, depending on their schedules.

What is your window care program?

We offer discounts based on frequency. The more you use our window cleaning service in a 12 month period the lower your individual cleaning costs will be. Discounts can be as high as 25% – just ask us for more details!

What results can I expect from my house soft wash?

Generally our customers are thrilled with the outcome of our professional soft wash when we remove mold, mildew and algae. If your home requires rust removal in addition to regular cleaning, different processes and service charges may be necessary. Although we don’t have a time machine to restore your home to it’s original condition, we can create immediate and significant improvements in the appearance of your most prized possession.

How do I know I can trust Red Robin Window Cleaning?

We are a local, family-owned boutique window cleaning company, and all of our team members are background checked, bonded, and fully insured. Unlike a faceless, nameless larger corporation, you are usually talking to and working with our owner, Jason Smith, so that we can provide you the level of comfort and trust you need in order to invite us to work on your home.

What forms of payment do you accept?

As a small local business we prefer to accept cash, cheque, or e-transfer payments. We can also accommodate credit card payments however we do charge a 3% transaction fee because of the costs of offering this service.

Is whitening or brightening the exterior of the gutter channel included in the gutter cleaning price?

No, the gutter cleaning and the gutter whitening are two separate services. One involves removing debris by hand and flushing the system, the other involves application of cleaning products, chemicals, and rinsing.

Do you use high pressure systems when washing my home?

No – we use a soft washing process that includes low pressure and safe chemicals to clean your home without causing any damage.

Do you clean both interior and exterior windows?

Yes we do! We also clean screens, tracks, frames and sills. Just ask us if you have some specific cleaning requirements and we’ll be happy to provide you a specialized quote.

What do I need to prepare for you to clean my windows?

In order to make our service as efficient as possible, we ask that you clear off any knick nacks, picture frames or other items from your window sills. If possible, please also move furniture or obstacles away from the windows so we can do the work. If that’s not possible we can help you to move heavy items, or we may be able to work around the obstacles with our specialized ladders and poles.

What’s better with fish - a chardonnay or a sauvignon blanc?

The eternal question. The answer depends a bit on the fish you are eating. For ocean fish, Jason recommends sauvignon blanc, while if it’s a fresh water fish, he may lean towards a chardonnay, lightly oaked. Why are we talking about wine here? Have a look at our About page. Feel free to ask Jason wine questions while he’s on site!
